Mac OSX: changing spots back to stripes

OSX LeopardI was all set to take my Macbook back to the Apple Store in Meadowhall this evening. For the last couple of months it’s had a really annoying ‘flickering’ problem which gets especially bad when I turn the screen brightness down. I need to do this in the evenings, otherwise I find I get lots of glare from the screen. Must be my old age… 😉

I’ve got my Twitter haikus as the screensaver on my Macbook now. After visiting the Twitter Fan Wiki – a great place for all things Twitter-related – I came across this blog post. All you need to do is bookmark the RSS feed from a Twitter page in Safari. Then, using the RSS screensaver built-in to Mac OS X, bingo! 🙂 Continue reading “Twitter Screensaver”

Jersey job and the return of the Mac

So I didn’t get the Head of History position at the school on Jersey. But hey, I learned some lessons:

  • Experience is more important to schools than talent and having a vision.
  • Don’t say in interviews that you get angry (or even frustrated).
  • Independent selective schools have little idea about comprehensive education.
