I’m a published author!

Welcome back!
Please use the 'Suggestions?' tab to the right of the screen if you want to suggest something for me to write about. You can remain anonymous if you wish!

It’s a red-letter day in the history of the Belshaw clan. Although our publishers didn’t tell us it was imminent, Nick Dennis* and I have finally had the first of a series published:

Oh, wait, you didn’t think it was a book, did you? Come on… this is 2008 – it’s digital, baby! :-p

*Nick’s finally started his blogging journey. Spur him on by commenting on his first post, please!

Aargh! Now everyone knows! We will have to have some mars bar cakes to celebrate at SHP...

Congratulations, that's fantastic news! And I did think it was a book - until I saw the price ;)
  • Congratulations, Doug, and welcome to the Clan.

  • Well done, you! It looks very interesting, but I'm afraid I can't afford a copy. You don't come cheap ;-)

Aww is it not like an amazon boiok where you get a free snippet when you 'see inside'?

    Well congratulations on being published
  • Thanks for the thanks everyone! I should imagine it will find it's way onto Amazon sooner or later - but no, you won't get a preview!
  • Well done. Bit puzzled as to why it's got someone else's name on the cover though??
  • Lisa, it's a CD-ROM that accompanies the series of Key Stage 3 History textbooks. The author's names are on the temporary mock-up, but Nick and I will (should!) have our names on the final product. :-)
  • Those sessions around the 'thinking zone' (aka the bar) at SHP have paid dividends - good work you two! And with Mr L, Mr M and others all busy with isbn-output its been a heck of a year for such an unruly mob... Laurent Perrier rose best be on ice for the Friday evening I hope...
  • Yes Don - we should absolutely thank those in the
Schoolhistory.co.ukcommunity as we have borrowed quite a few ideas! It
    should hopefully spread
some good resources and ways of approaching the topics. Thanks very much for
your input: look forward to some more time in the 'thinking zone' at this
    year's SHP Conference! :-)
  • Congratulations, Doug! Exciting times.
  • Well that's OK then - can't have someone else taking the credit for your hard work ;o)
