Launch of the Mobile Learning infoKit

Yesterday I launched JISC infoNet‘s new Mobile Learning infoKit at ALT-C 2011. Here’s an overview:

The infoKit is designed to augment JISC’s new Emerging Practice in a Digital AgeΒ guide (also launched yesterday). If you’re interested in mobile learning you may also want to check out the JISC Mobile and Wireless Technologies Review I authored a few months ago. πŸ™‚

BOOM! Purpos/ed launches.

purpos/edI don’t know whether you’ve had this feeling before, but for me it’s been one of the first times I’ve felt it: that feeling that the skills and the knowledge you’ve built up over the years have finally coalesced, have finally got a purpose. Have you ever felt that?

It’s with sheer delight and bursting with enthusiasm, therefore, that Andy Stewart and I launch purpos/ed. We’re aiming to kickstart a debate around the purpose of education, starting with 500-word blog post and Twitter campaigns – and culminating, in 3 years’ time, with simultaneous large meetings/conferences.

It’s going to be big. Join us. πŸ˜€

Open Educational Resources infoKit

As this post goes live I’m at the Higher Education Academy Conference 2010. Last night I helped launch the OER infoKit on behalf of JISC infoNet which is something I’ve been working on ever since I started my new role at the beginning of April this year. πŸ™‚

The above video is simply a rolling demo (no sound), but I’d encourage you to visit the OER infoKit itself. If you’re involved in education, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find something worthwhile in it! πŸ˜€
