Did You Know? 2.0 – UK version?

It seems like almost everyone in the educational community has now seen the Did You Know? video, which shows how the 21st century world is changing rapidly. If you haven’t, spend a few minutes viewing it at one of the locations listed here. Unfortunately, the video is somewhat US-centric. What’s great is that the authors have released the original Flash files, meaning that the community can remix the content under the Creative Commons license. A UK version anyone? 🙂

  1. There is a version that was re-mixed for our recent HMIe Conference with Scottish and UK based statistics. I'm trying to get a copy – they actually re-produced and adapted the original as a PowerPoint presentation.

  2. Ollie, it would be great if you could find that to share. I know Kristian Still was trying to get hold of some relevant UK statistics but was finding it difficult.

    1. I actually put a wales version together in Powerpoint for an inset last term, but I was never really happy with it. I'll try and fish it out next week and post it.

  3. I would be interested in this too if it becomes available. I used to show a edited version on my previous school’s Digital Signage System. It got the most attention from people dressed in uniforms!

  4. Doug, contact Ray Fleming, Education Marketing Manager for Microsoft in the UK – (email address removed). He’s got a UK version of the original version of Did You Know?

Also, I believe (I hope!) you will find the new version, Did You Know? 2.0, to be less USA-centric…

  5. @Paul: Excuse my ignorance, but what's a 'digital signage system'?

@Scott: Thanks for putting me onto Ray – I'm awaiting his response. I removed his email address for anti-spam reasons… :)
