Weeknote 38/2014
This week I’ve been:
- Putting into practice work/life balance. We’ve had the double bay windows replaced as well as almost the entire flooring downstairs ripped up this week. To help facilitate that I time-shifted my working hours from Monday-Thursday to approximate Eastern Standard Time (EST).
- Interviewing more awesome people about the Web Literacy Map. This week:
- An-Me Chung (Mozilla, USA)
- David Ascher (Mozilla, Canada)
- Oliver Quinlan (Nesta, UK)
- Kat Braybrooke (Mozilla, Canada)
- Catherine Cronin (NUI Galway, Ireland)
- Josie Fraser (Leicester City Council, UK)
- Audrey Watters (Independent writer, USA)
- Gus Andrews (OpenITP, USA)
- Ibrahima Saar (EFL teacher & Mozilla contributor, France)
- Karen Smith (University of Toronto / Mozilla, Canada)
- Justin Crawford (Mozilla, USA)
- Attending this week’s #TeachTheWeb community call.
- Leading this week’s Badge Alliance Digital & Web Literacies working group call.
- Issuing some Webmaker badges.
- Keeping on top of my email and Bugzilla issues.
- Talking with someone who’s thinking about applying for a job at Mozilla and wants to know what it’s like from the inside. Current listings here for anyone else interested!
Next week is the last week of interviews for the Web Literacy Map v2.0. I’ve very much enjoyed interviewing people, but it’s time-consuming! I’m looking forward to the synthesis stage in preparation for MozFest.
