Battery life: iPhone 3GS vs Google Nexus One vs HTC Desire

It infuriates me when I want a quick visual representation to make an informed judgement; all I wanted to do was compare battery life of the 3 major smartphones. Having not found an at-a-glance version, here you go (and you’re welcome!) πŸ™‚

The question is, how much better (or worse!) is that than my current iPhone 3G? The latter is supposed to be capable of 3oo hours standby. Which is laughable, so take the above with a pinch of salt…

Links to the specs pages for each can be found below:

  1. Rarely have to talk for long as usually using phone for so much more than talk nowadays.

Probably comes about due to the far speedier 1GHZ Snapdragon processor that the HTC desire has. I’ve looked and spent time with both but have to say the fantastic screen and ability to play flash sold me the HTC desire every time. Comes with the brilliant free Google Navigation too! Forget your SatNav.

With the new Android 2.2 they’re is going to be an increase in performance of the Android operating system of 2-5 times apparently.

  2. I am so happy with the HTC desire, as Chris mentioned above the navigation is impressive as is the general speed of the processor. I am not sure how this compares to the Iphone having never owned one, but I took my desire off charge at about 7am this morning, have used it for reading email and texts today, had one short phone conversation and viewed an swf file online that I couldn’t access over the school network and by 3.30pm it needed charging. It is the only thing that I find frustrates me about it and having a charger at home, school and in the car seems a bit annoying! Apart from that it is an awesome piece of kit
