When I read through this I recall my days at secondary school and handing in essays and how much I didn't like it. I enjoyed the topics especially in History and Geography but it was the writing I didn't like. The constant correcting of spelling mistakes, the smudged ink, the dog eared A4 sheet...it was hard work and the learning process, although at times interesting, could never have been called enjoyable. It was a long slog, hard grafting over books with missing pages and a tutor who never seemed to have the time.

The use of technology by teachers today releases students from the confines of the classroom and the text book. By creating an environment where they can share their ideas, collaborate on projects, 'get in touch' with their teacher and help to create a more personalised learning experience.
