Gizmodo report that Asus have announced their 2008 line-up for their Eee PC range. This builds upon the success of the RM Asus Minibook, available in the UK and mentioned on edte.ch here. The E-DT will be a desktop machine sold without a monitor for around £100. There will also be an E-Monitor system which is similar in form to an Apple iMac. It will feature a 19-21″ monitor with a built-in computer. This will come in at around £250.
These two systems will pique the interest of forward-thinking schools who want to use thin-clients and keep their costs down. Not only are these devices cheap but are very energy efficient. For alternatives, see the Zonbu.
